UK workers are expected to receive just a 1.1% pay rise in 2024 [1]. It comes ahead of a new batch of peerages likely to be announced in the next two weeks [2]. Members of the House of Lords are not salaried. They can opt to receive a £332 per day attendance allowance, plus travel expenses and subsidised restaurant facilities. Peers may also choose to receive a reduced attendance allowance of £166 per day instead.
